About MindSay Wiki Pages

What are MindSay wiki pages?

MindSay wiki pages let you find people with similar interests - then create an ongoing, interactive web page dedicated to that interest where anyone can contribute.

Ever wanted to create a page where you can find users interested in _________ and share news, photos, links, and more with other enthusiasts? Then MindSay wiki pages are for you!

How do wiki pages work?

MindSay wiki pages are made up of several areas - page content, member list, and comments. Member list and comments are self-explanatory, but page content has some very unique functionality:
  1. Anyone can edit the page content and style, using HTML and CSS by clicking on the "Edit page content" and "Edit style" links.
  2. Each time someone makes a change and saves it, MindSay stores it on the "History" page. That way if someone makes a mistake, the previous version can be restored.
  3. The community serves as the "editors." If someone posts information that is inaccurate, offensive, or otherwise messes up the page, the community makes edits and/or restores previous versions.
What makes one version of a wiki page better than the last?

The idea is to continually add new content that makes the page more informative, entertaining, and better looking.

What type of content should I add?

Anything that "adds value" to the page. News, links, photos, video, etc. that are relevant to the topic of the page are all welcome content.

What type of content should not be added?

Anything that "detracts" from the page's value. For example, offensive comments, blatant misinformation, or graphics/media that are posted to intentionally deface the page are all examples of content that should not be added.

What is the comment area used for?

The comments are an area for free and open discussion about the topic of the page. They can also be used to talk about changes to the page content. Since the merits of additions to page content can be subjective, we encourage users to resolve disputes in the comment area rather than continually overwriting each other's work.
